About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Apprentice Trainee to join our Tool Design team. The trainee will support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing tools, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and related engineering solutions. This role provides hands-on exposure to product development, CAD modeling, manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation while working closely with experienced design team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of tooling, jigs, fixtures & gauges.
- Prepare 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using engineering design software.
- Participate in tool trials, validation activities, and process improvements.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and design documentation.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, production, quality, and procurement teams for tool development activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting tooling-related issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and engineering best practices.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project updates.
Required Qualifications
- Specialisation in Tool Design.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, welding, Drilling
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up concepts.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and experience of Anyone CAD software
- CATIA - Part Design, Assembly Design & drafting
- 3D Experience - Part Design, Assembly Design & drafting
- Understanding of tooling design principles.
- Knowledge of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good to have experience in Windchill or any PLM software
- Good to have basic knowledge of vehicle assembly process.
